NEC Corporation of America, a service provided by ATEL Communications, has already received two prestigious awards this year. On January 7th, 2014 the Nemertes Research ranked NEC with the Lowest Total Cost of Ownership among businesses in the IP Telephony market. Most recently, on April 3rd, NEC’s Unified Network Coordinator (UNC) was presented as the winner of the management category of the 2014 Best of Interop awards.

For the Lowest Total Cost of Ownership award in January, NEC rivaled against companies of all sizes that are continually trying to keep and reduce the cost of their IT and communications. They were recognized as having the lowest capital, implementing, and operating costs during their first year. Not surprisingly, NEC also had the lowest costs in maintenance. The Nemertes Research report acknowledged the importance of having a low first-year total cost and the strategy that must be implemented in order to receive such an award. NEC had to consider every area of cost and make decisions based off of accurate data.

In the Best of Interop awards, NEC’s UNC won the management category because of its impact in advancing business technology. The UNC equips businesses to be able to handle the changes being made in the amount of bandwidth businesses must support, the intricacy of their networks, the necessity of security, the mobility of data and applications, and greater continuity needs. It accomplishes this through the abilities of its network controller. The controller links multiple controllers to a specific data center, which can then be connected to other data centers. This enables customers to set up their own policies on the UNC on over 10 different controllers.

ATEL Communications supplies NEC services because of the quality of the overall business and its specific products.
